Santa Monica SymphonyDear Friends:
Greetings from all of us at the Santa Monica Symphony! We look forward to seeing you again during our 2008-2009 concert season. Be sure to visit the main page of this website for more information on all our activities.
I don't know if you saw the recent article on classical music audiences in the Los Angeles Times. It quoted an official of the League of American Orchestras as saying that classical audience members are "looking for something that is very human and personal that connects with them...being moved emotionally and spiritually...being touched by live performance."
We think that sums up beautifully, what you experience at our concerts. An added benefit is that you experience that "sense of connection" with your neighbors who also attend.
As a non-profit organization, the Santa Monica Symphony continues to rely on you, our loyal music fans to provide the financial support that keeps us going. That's more important than ever, in these tough economic times. Your generous financial contributions help to allow us to offer free concerts for everyone in the community, including families, kids, senior citizens, recent immigrants, and those less fortunate.
As well, your tax-deductible gifts allow us to offer the free children's concerts and other activities that help build future audiences for the arts. We entered this new concert season with grants from the City of Santa Monica, the County of Los Angeles, the National Endowment for the Arts, and other sources. Your individual or business support is also vital, for us to continue our work.
Won't you become a new donor, or renew your support, of the Santa Monica Symphony? Please use the on-line form below to do so. If you have any questions or need more information, give us a call at (310) 395-6330.
On behalf of everyone on the Board of Directors and our professional and volunteer musicians, thanks so much. We hope to see you at an upcoming concert soon!
Sincerely,
Nathaniel Trives
