Santa Monica SymphonyDear Symphony Supporters:
Musical instruments collected by the Santa Monica Symphony Association in conjunction with the rotary Club of Santa Monica are now part of the classroom instruction in, Katrina ravaged and now rebuilt, Warren Easton High School in New Orleans. This collaborative project along with our annual Children's Concert and the Woodwind Quintet's in-school programs, as well as our adoption of Grant Elementary School in Santa Monica, demonstrates our commitment to providing access to classical music for our children.
Our regular season of concerts, which are offered free of charge to several thousand music lovers every years, continue being received with acclaim and enthusiasm. It is our mission to make attending symphonic concerts of high artistic value possible for all. With all the volunteer hours that are put into these free concerts, performances of such elevated standards cost money and we are, again, currently operating at a sizable deficit for the year.
As a non profit arts organization, we are accustomed to fiscal challenges. Our supporters appreciate the effort that goes into what we offer to the public free of charge. Their faith and donations have kept us going for more than six decades. Unfortunately, while we are working harder and accomplishing more than ever, we are also facing a tougher financial situation. We hope that you would consider helping us by making a larger tax deductible gift this years.
We will be making our Fall fundraising appeal around Thanksgiving time; however, those of you who wish to send a check or contribute online can do so now so that we can have sufficient cash to continue our fine concerts. Please, help the Symphony maintain its high standards and keep its momentum in providing the wonderful gift of music to the larger public.
Sincerely,
Nathaniel Trives
