Denise Gerber started playing violin at age 9, and participated in school and community orchestras through graduate school. Life, in the form of work and family, intervened and she took a break from playing for over 20 years. She eventually realized that making music was an important piece of her life that was missing, and resumed playing violin in her 40’s. In addition to being a member of the Santa Monica Symphony, Denise is a long-term member of the Santa Monica College Symphony, and also plays chamber music when she gets the opportunity. She retired from her IT career in 2021 and highly recommends retirement!
