Cellist John Contreras is a native of San Diego, where he studied under Peter Farrell, then department chair of music at UCSD. In addition to orchestral playing, he has written and recorded arrangements for numerous recording artists. Touring extensively throughout the US, Europe, and Russia, he has performed with various ensembles in venues ranging from CBGB’s to The Queen Elizabeth Hall.
